Algorithms have been altered, and the social media accounts of essential organizations that provide resources for women’s reproductive health have been suspended, especially on Instagram and Facebook. The free flow of information is being blocked. This is why it is so important to have platforms like substack that are interested in the free flow of information. They’re not going to suspend this account because I’m sharing facts and important information about a women’s right to body autonomy and reproductive freedom. That’s refreshing. That means this information will be here for anyone who needs it.

Bodily autonomy

What is an abortion?
Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by removing or expulsing an embryo or fetus. An abortion that occurs without intervention is known as a miscarriage or “spontaneous abortion” and occurs in approximately 30% to 40% of pregnancies.
Difference between Plan B and Plan C
The morning-after pill, also known as Plan B, is different from the set of 5 tablets that will grant a woman a safe, at-home abortion.
What is Plan B? Emergency Contraception
Plan B is also known as the morning-after pill. It is a form of emergency contraception to prevent pregnancy. It contains estrogen and/or the synthetic hormone levonorgestrel and must be taken within 120 hours of having unprotected sex. Taken within the first 72 hours, it is 75% to 89% effective. After 72 hours, the effectiveness decreases significantly.
“Plan B acts primarily by stopping the release of an egg from the ovary (ovulation). It may prevent the union of sperm and egg (fertilization). If fertilization does occur, Plan B may prevent a fertilized egg from attaching to the womb (implantation). If a fertilized egg is implanted prior to taking Plan B, Plan B will not work.” - US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
What is Plan C? Medical Abortion
Plan C commonly refers to mifepristone and misoprostol. It is a set of 5 pills that can be taken by people who are up to 12 weeks pregnant. The World Health Organization (WHO) approves the use of abortion medication for up to 12 weeks, while the FDA currently approves use up to 10 weeks. If you take the pills with proper medical guidance or supervision, medication abortion is 95% to 99% effective.

Find abortion services in the United States DATABASE
The Cut/NY Magazine has created a searchable database.
“The Cut’s vetted database of abortion clinics, abortion funds, and other resources is intended to help you locate abortion services and practical support near you. As part of our commitment to making this information accessible, we’ve removed our paywall from this and other stories about finding abortion care.
In our database, enter your state or Zip Code and answer a few questions to receive a list of professional providers, including clinics, hospitals, and independent OB/GYNs with verified contact information, as well as other support options. (No personally identifying information about users is stored.) Since state laws restricting abortion remain in flux, this database will be updated periodically to reflect those changes.”

An equal number of women don’t require support following an abortion but there are some people who require support following an abortion. I know posting an organization with the name Faith Aloud might freak some people out since the counselors are affiliated with various faiths. But this is a NON-JUDGEMENTAL group of clergy who hold space for people and let’s face it a lot of people belong to religious and spiritual groups and would prefer to speak to a spiritual teacher.
Faith Aloud 1-888-717-5010 compassionate religious and spiritual support for abortion and pregnancy options. Faith Aloud, a national nonprofit organization promoting unbiased and judgment-free support since 2004, supports reproductive freedom for every person. When you call, you will reach a voicemail. Leave your first name and phone number; a counselor will call back. Trained counselors are clergy of various religious faiths: Roman Catholic, Jewish, Unitarian Universalist, Protestant Christian, and Buddhist. Persons of no particular religious faith are equally welcome to receive services.
